Community Recreation is a Nelson/Tasman Active Communities project that aims to increase physical activity levels of the community. The project is a collection of region-wide strategies that ensure ‘active choices’ are easy to make, focusing on those who are aware they should be active but currently are not.
The wide range of Community Recreation programmes and activities are delivered through regional community ‘hubs’ (incorporating both rural and urban areas), managed by co-ordinators that facilitate activities and deliver information specific to the area.
Moutere Hills Community Centre is a Community Recreation hub, and many of the activities in our schedule are a result of the Community Recreation initiative. Vanessa Mairs is our local co-ordinator. To find out what activities are on offer here at Moutere Hills check out the schedule at the top of this page.
