History

Rangers Netball Club was established in 2013 with the forming of a team to play in the A grade competition on Monday nights at the Motueka Recreation Centre.  In 2015, a social team was formed also playing in Motueka on Saturday mornings.

The A grade team is made up of women of whom have played netball before at a competitive level while the social team is a mix of women who have played ‘a long time ago’ or ‘never at all’.  Moutere Hills Community Centre is excited to have Rangers Netball enhancing an already strong ‘sports club’.

Performance update

The A grade team finished 3rd overall  during their first year in the league while 2014 saw some great games of netball although they finished ‘at the wrong end of the grade’.  With the 2015 season only mid-way through, the girls are currently middle of the table in the standings but are enjoying some close games and a very enjoyable season together.   The social women, still in their first season of competition and yet to win a game, are also enjoying being part of ‘the social netball scene’ and the environment which comes with being part of a team.

Going forward

Moutere Hills Community Centre are always keen to get more local women interested in playing netball, either socially or competitively and be able to enter more Rangers teams into the various grades being played in Motueka.  Contact Vanessa@mouterehills.org.nz for further information.
