Thanks to everyone who helped put together the Community Mosaics title at Sarau Festival.

The tile incorporates elements that depict Moutere Hills Community Centre and once grouting is complete the tile  will be displayed in the public toilets, down by the entry to the changing sheds, to help brighten up this area.

Moutere Hills Community Centre would like to acknowlege the generous donation from Creative Communities to make this project possible.

If you are interested in learning how to do mosaics yourself then we are running three adults courses at the centre.  A beginners course on a Tuesday evening and an intermediate course on a Thursday evening.  Also, due to demand, there will be a Saturday workshop on offer during March.  To find out more about this check out the What’s On section on this website.

On Sunday 11th December Moutere Hills hosted the finals of Top Team 2011, and what a great day it proved to be.  There was action galore as speed, strength, agility and team work came into play as well as a lot of fun and laughter to be heard.  Twelve senior and twelve junior teams battled it out to achieve the ulitmate title of Top Team 11.  And taking out the title on the day for the Junior section was Nelson Intermediate with The Lakers who came through from the Murchison heat becoming the champions and Top Team for 2011.

Moutere Hills Community Centre would like to acknowledge our sponsors for the finals, without their support Top Team 2011 would not have been such a success for the centre and everyone involve.

Has Your Team Got What It Takes?

We are very happy to again be hosting the finals of this years Top Team challenge at Moutere Hills. The three qualifying heats are all done and we are set for an exciting day of thrills and spills for all the finalists. This year sees the introduction of a new ‘Junior’ class, with year 4 to 8 students battling it out for the supreme Top Team award.

All the finalists will be here with their cheer leaders, families and supporting friends for the finals on Sunday the 12th of December.

Come and support the 12 senior and 12 junior teams as they vie with strength, speed, skill and cunning for the title of the regions Top Team 2010.

The event starts at 11.00am until 3.00pm. There will be food and childrens entertainment available. Sure to be a great family day out, so we look forward to seeing you here!!

Moutere Hills Community Centre is to mark its five year anniversary by throwing a big ‘thank you’ party for the community that has made it possible and helped it grow. The centre turns five this month and is holding an open invitation birthday party on Friday October 22nd from 5.30pm to celebrate its many successes since it was opened in 2005.
