Quilt Show Success
Moutere Hills Community Centre was proud to host this year’s Quilt Show produced by the Motueka Quilting Connection. Our Woollaston Room provided a wonderful backdrop for the stunning works of art on display for the three day exhibition. A tremendous advertising effort by the group meant that this event was one of their best attended and attracted approximately 900 visitors to the centre, many for the first time.
Perfectly organised from start to finished, the Quilt Show also included quilt competitions, a raffle and a number of thoughtful quilt presentations including the new Motueka Community Hospital and even tiny quilts for the Nelson Neo-natal Unit. Guests also enjoyed a cuppa and home-made biscuits kindly provided by the Motueka Quilting Connection members.
The Quilt Show prompted Moutere Hills to offer a basic quilting course at the centre which is now open for enrollment. The course will be instructed by Gayle Ewers. Places are limited but please be in touch if you are interested in signing up!
Thank-you again to the Motueka Quilting Connection and also to event convenor, Bev Dyke, for such an incredible effort and lots of hard work! We thoroughly enjoyed having you at the centre and the feedback from the locals was absolutely fantastic.
