The Centre is now Re-Open!!!

As most of you have probably noticed, work has now begun on the development of the Community Fitness Centre. Work is progressing well and we hope to have it completed within four months. Thanks to incredible support from Canterbury Community Trust, Sarau Trust, Pub Charity, IMB Contracting and local businesses and Community members we have now secured all the funding required to build the addition which will house the Community Fitness Centre. We a now concentrating our efforts on securing funding to purchase the equipment required to develop a quality Fitness Centre. We will kick off this fundraising effort with a Quiz Evening. This will take place on Saturday 28 June at 6:30pm at Moutere Hills Community Centre. Nibbles and Supper will be provided with some great prizes on offer. Why not get together with friends and neighbours and come along and join in the fun! The team registration form, as well as the sponsorship form, is available on our website or just give us a call on 543 2516. We would also love to hear from any businesses that maybe interested in sponsoring specific components of the Fitness Centre, such as the drinks station and core strength area and weights area. Please give us a call if you would like to discuss these possibilities further.

Work is also developing slowly on the development of the Outdoor Community Recreation space. A finalized plan will be available on our website soon with details to follow on working bees and support required to carry out this work. We hope to make this a welcoming and family friendly space for all Community Members to enjoy.   If you have any specific skills in this area then we would love to hear from you. We would like to thanks Malcolm Mairs who is kindly donating his time to lead this positive development at Moutere Hills Community Centre.

Event Hire

Moutere Hills Community Centre is set in an idylic location.  Unfortunately due to the two recent fires we only have the “Club Room” space available for hire.  We are however taking bookings for hire of the ‘Woolaston Estates Function Room’, ‘Nelson Building Society Sport Hall’, ‘Hyatt Meeting Room’, Community Kitchen and Community Room for 2014.

Why not check it out for meetings, weddings, birthday parities and special events.

Quiz Night – Saturday 28th June

Work has now begun on the development of the Community Fitness Centre.  We are extremely excited about this addition to our Community Centre and know it will offer many physical activity opportunities to support the health and wellbeing of our Community.  We have managed to raise enough money to fund the build of the facility but are still trying to fundraise $70,000 to outfit the Fitness Centre.  If anyone is keen to sponsor this exciting development then we would love to hear from you.  We are planning on running a Quiz Night to help raise funds for this.  This will be held on Saturday 28th June.  Book this in your diaries and more information will follow soon!
